Where Does the Rain Go?

Through this field trip on school property students learn the difference between storm drains and sewers; what watershed their school is in; and where the rain goes when it hits the ground. Includes map of the school's watershed. 60 minutes.

Classroom presentation, Outdoor field trip

Students will be able to: name three differences between storm drains and sewers; explain what a watershed is; identify the school's watershed; and identify 3 activities that contribute to water pollution and alternatives to those activities.

By Grades

Elementary (grades K-5)
