Environmental Education Instructor Guide

The Chewelah Peak Learning Center offers a variety of outdoor education and leadership programs to supplement existing curriculum and to expand the learning opportunities available to students. The "Chewelah Peak Experience" curriculum guide contains over 75 suggested course outlines and fieldtrips. These classes include outdoor science education programs such as forest study, water study, tracking by snowshoe and the Backpack Program. All the programs can be custom fit to individual groups’ needs. The challenge course is designed to enhance all aspects of team building through mentally and physically challenging activities.

Chewelah Peak Learning Center is a quality meeting facility set in a forested and mountainous terrain that is available for a variety of educational and community group needs. The learning center provides outdoor science education, team building (challenge course), leadership, and diversity training for public and private school students in eastern Washington or the entire Pacific Northwest. Over 26,000 users have been served at the Center since opening Sept. 2003.

When not in use by students, the Learning Center is available as a conference site for teacher training, community groups, businesses, and other activities such as class reunions, retreats, meetings, and conferences.
